Engineered Cathode Buffer Layers for Highly Efficient Organic Solar Cells: A Review

چکیده
This article presents an in-depth insight into the most efficient cathode buffer layers (CBLs) in conventional and inverted organic solar cells (OSCs). The CBL can play a critical role improving short circuit current density (Jsc) fill factor (FF) of devices by minimizing contact resistance reducing charge recombination at electrode/photoactive layer interface, resulting extraction carriers therefore power conversion efficiency (PCE). review explores with respect to its effect on physics device electronic processes interface CBL/photoactive impact overall performance OSCs. Besides this, CBL, chemical composition, morphology, thickness, dopants, deposition conditions, etc., their corresponding effects both OSCs are discussed detail. Finally, CBLs that provide best summarized structures discussed. will benefit researchers working domain providing understanding layers, along various interfacial processes.
